We got our precious 1.5 year old black male pug, Pickle, from Baxter Family Pugs and we had such a great experience! Baxter was very responsive and sent lots of pictures and videos throughout the 8 weeks from when he was born to when we could take him home. We loved that we could also follow along with Pickle and the rest of his litter on Instagram and see lots of adorable photos/videos of them all, which made it feel like we watched him grow up even before we met him. We told Baxter what we planned to name him, so they called him Pickle throughout the 8 weeks and he already knew his name very well when we picked him up. We came from Chicago to Oklahoma and they made it super easy for us to pick him up by meeting us at the airport. They were also always available for any questions we had, like what food and treats they recommend, etc. I also come from a family that has had pugs for many years, and everyone says that Pickle is the most handsome pug they’ve ever seen! We just had the best experience working with Baxter Family Pugs overall, and will definitely work with them again for Pickle’s little brother or sister! --
I am almost 50 years old and have never had a puppy, but my little girl has been working and saving her money and proving her responsibility and finally this year she talked us into searching for just the right pet for us. We looked all over the country and I was so thrilled to find Vickie Baxter as she worked with us even though we live in Alaska to make sure we would be able to get the puppy. She was honest and thoughtful and helpful throughout the whole process. She even sent us pictures as the puppies were growing before the puppy could come live with us. We are so happy with this new member of our family. Vickie , thank you for helping us connect with a flight nanny to get the puppy all the way to Juneau, Alaska. Thank you for sending the puppy with the cutest little stuffed animal that she still plays with every single day. Thank you for the little food container that we still use every single day. And for telling us what kind of puppy food she likes! We feel very blessed. I highly recommend Vicky and Baxter family pugs. I also recommend the breed because for a family, a pug is a super special and super sweet kind of dog to get. She likes to play and she likes to cuddle. She has been easy to train. She hardly ever barks. She sleeps all the way through the night and snuggles in with us in bed. We are totally in love.--

I followed Baxter Family Pugs on Instagram for two years before officially reaching out when I was ready to add a pug to my family. I was cautious, as you have to be with social media, because I only knew Vickie through Instagram. However, it didn’t take long for me to know that BFP was the perfect match for me.
I watched from afar for those two whole years to get a good read on BFP, and it became so evident to me how much she truly cares for her babies and the homes that they are aligned to. I heard so many horror stories of bad and unethical breeders, so it was important to me that I did my research. After my initial inquiry and through several conversations with Vickie, I learned just how many thriving pugs BFP has raised. She made me feel comfortable and welcomed, but was also very particular about me and learning about who would take care of the puppy — this was proof to me that she truly cares about them and their lives long-term.
I now have a thriving one year old pug from BFP. At this time, I am 100% confident that the way she was brought up and cared for by Vickie and her family will make for a strong and healthy pug long-term. In addition, because I went through BFP, I have a built in community of pugs and pug owners; Vickie actually connected me to another BFP that lives in the same city as I am in!
My favorite part about BFP is how invested Vickie is in her fur babies even after they leave Oklahoma. She was the first one to text and wish my pup a happy first birthday. We are still in close contact and I know I could go to her for any advice needed throughout my pug’s life.
I would not change getting my fur baby through BFP and would recommend them to anyone that is serious about getting a pug! I am so grateful for my experience.--Olivia, Tennessee
My husband has loved pugs since he had one as a child and I came to love them as well. We adopted pugs from various internet ads when we were younger, but being wiser now we wanted to put more research into finding a responsible breeder when we were considering the next addition to our family. That’s when we found the Baxter Family. When I first spoke with Vicki is was clear how much she cared for every puppy in her care and making sure they were going to a home where they would not only be a beloved pet, but part of the family. She made sure that we were knowledgeable about the breed and were prepared for the member that was joining our family. Vicki’s love for each puppy doesn’t end the moment they leave her care. She regularly checked in with us in the early days to make sure we didn’t have any questions, and still periodically checks in on Chloe 2yrs later. All of my interactions with Vicki, and the years I’ve followed their pages since we found Chloe have shown that without a doubt that Vicki and her family are caring, ethical breeders who truly care about what is best for their dogs and the breed as a whole!--Caitlin, Texas
I was introduced to Baxter Family Pugs by a friend. The whole process was amazing. I received pictures and videos of Zuzu starting when she was born all the way to when I brought her home. Vickie answered all of my questions which was so helpful as a new pet owner! Even after I brought Zuzu home, Vickie would check in to see how things were going. I couldn’t be happier with my new puppy!! Highly recommend Baxter Family Pugs!--Shannon, Chicago
How often does the purchase of something lead to a lifelong relationship with someone you trust and deeply admire? Vickie Baxter at Baxter Family Pugs is one of the most honest, caring, good people on planet Earth and that is not overstating it! When she says "these babies are part of our family," she isn't kidding. She cares for every pug like it is a member of her own family. She does just as much research and outreach to prospective owners as prospective owners may do on Baxter Family Pugs. She really cares about the lives of her pugs long after they have been placed and, as a result, she became a member of our family, too. She's never missed a birthday of our three pugs: Mary, Philip and Elizabeth. She continues to be there for every nervous question, every celebration big and small and is a part of our lives regularly. Our happy, healthy, well adjusted two and three year old pugs are the greatest gift and we're forever grateful for Baxter Family Pugs. --John, Texas
For many years, I’ve wanted a pug. After our golden retriever, Bailey, passed away and we’d had some time to be without a dog in our home, we decided it was time to welcome a pug into our family! I was so worried about finding the right place to find one and spent quite a lot of time researching the breed as well as breeders. I’d reached out to a few breeders before Baxter Family Pugs and just didn’t feel like they were a good fit for various reasons. When I reached out to Baxter Family Pugs, Vickie was so responsive, answered all the questions I had, and I was so comfortable with the love and care provided to their pugs. They truly are part of their family until they come to you! We loved getting all the photos and updates of our little guy before he came home with us. It was so apparent that all the puppies in his litter were loved and cared for deeply! She made sure we knew what food he was eating beforehand so we could prepare everything to welcome him home. We made the drive from Cincinnati to Oklahoma to pick up Sandwiches (Sammy for short) and he already knew his name, which was so wonderful to see him perk up every time I said his name. It’s been two years since our little guy was born and I still keep in touch with Vickie. I wouldn’t hesitate to get another pug from Baxter Family Pugs or recommend them to anyone who’s looking for a new pug family member. This was the absolute best experience I had in welcoming a new puppy into our family!!
Thank you for giving us this special family member who's added so much joy to our home!--

Who would have thought I would become friends with our pug breeder whom I’ve never met in person and lives hundreds of miles from me? ME! But why? The answer is simple, Baxter Family Pugs and Vickie love and care for each pug like they are family! We text regularly about how our pug is doing! If you adopt a pug from Vickie, you are bringing a new family member home from a breeder that goes above and beyond to ensure a healthy puppy and a happy puppy for every family. Vickie does an excellent job of matching your request for your new puppy with the perfect dog in the litter! For example, we asked for a smaller pug and a calmer one, and we were matched perfectly! Another example of the caring environment Vickie has created when the puppies are born, is how much Lottie, our pug, loves people and her brother pug! In fact, Lottie has to be always touching a person or her brother! I know this may be the way God made her but I choose to believe a huge part of her sweet personality was formed in the first eight weeks of her life with Vickie, her mom and sisters and brothers. I can’t recommend Baxter Family Pugs enough! If you want a beautiful, healthy and happy pug, contact them. --
